EUCLID - sharing knowledge for culture

MAY FAIR

MAY FAIR

A cultural exchange to celebrate EU enlargement
19th May 2004 - Manchester Town Hall, Manchester, UK

About the conference

This conference was a unique opportunity to come and meet 40 representatives from the arts, audiovisual, museums & heritage sectors from the 10 new Member States - to learn about the cultural sector in their country and to meet colleagues interested in joint projects, exchanges, tours and other collaborations.  The morning was a plenary session, with a range of presentations from UK speakers and from a selection of the 40 representatives from the 10 new Member States.  The afternoon comprised a number of workshops based on the different cultural areas.  UK participants could select one of these workshops where they heard from the new Member State representatives in that cultural area, and then they had a chance to talk informally with the representatives about possible future co-operation - exchanges, tours, collaborative projects, etc.
